Directions to Glendale Guest House
From the M6 motorway: Take Junction 40 (Penrith) and follow the A66 West towards Keswick (approx. 15 miles). Take the first turning into Keswick and drop down the hill then turn left off the slip-road, past the Keswick town sign and on to the t-junction. Turn left away from the town centre, towards Windermere. After about a quarter of a mile take the next right into Ambleside Road. The third right-hand exit from this road is Eskin Street. Glendale House is a short distance down on the left.
Alternative route from the South – M6 Jct36
A591 via Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere. This route can be very scenic but can be very slow at busy times. When arriving in Keswick follow directions as above.
Eskin Street and other streets around Glendale provide unrestricted, safe parking in a quiet residential area. However at busy times there is high demand for parking and we cannot promise you will park right outside, but we all find somewhere to park close by.
The Lakeshore of Derwent Water is just ten minutes walk from Glendale Guest House. The Theatre By The Lake, Keswick Launch and many gentle walks are on offer at the lake side.The launch can be used to reach areas of Borrowdale and Newlands valley to start and finish your walks.
Keswick is easily accessed by train with the nearest Rail Station being Penrith. Approx 17 miles. Trainline.com
